Had an afternoon tea with friends on Thursday - wow! The food and presentation was amazing. Everything was home made fresh and really lovely. Honestly couldn't have been any better . Staff were also lovely and very attentive. Couldn't manage it all - so gave us each a tray to take home.

Went on a Friday didn't realise it was quiz night it was absolutely brilliant the funniest quiz ever we all had loads of different dishes to eat the food was really good i had the pulled pork yorkshire pudding wrap served with homemade roast potatoes and meaty gravy (the roast potatoes)are on a different level they were the best ever, the prices were so cheap and d the girls that work there were lovely. They have 4 cask ales on all of which were excellent. The pub allowed us all to stop in our Motorhomes/campervan it's next to a river it was so quiet no passing traffic at night a d birds singing in the morning, i really can't recommend this place enough it could do with abit of a spruce up but that just adds to the pub as its about 400 years old.

Can only judge on food and drink as we didn't stay over. There were 9 in our party. The servings were generous and the extras - cauliflower cheese mushrooms were decent size and nicely cooked at an additional cost that was reasonable and served more than one. The staff were efficient and everything was hot. Unfortunately we were unable to accommodate a pudding but the menu had variety. Atmosphere pleasant and welcoming. The only minus is finding the place! It is down cobbled roads that seem to lead to nowhere and around curves that make it sinister in dim light. Getting into the place is challenging and is not wheelchair or wonky leg friendly.

Stayed for a couple of nights last week on business and how lovely it was stay in a proper pub! Warm welcome on arrival from Kayda (apologies if incorrect) and shown to the room. All the basics and nice and comfortable. Wandered down to pub for some food and beer and was given such a friendly and warm welcome by the locals and the staff. First night I went for a couple of Timothy Taylors plus a chip butty. Now it would be reminisce of me not to offer a warning about the chip butty as it comes on a bap the size of a small plate and the skin on chips are simply the best I have had in many a tear! Second night was King Prawn Fajitas which were amazing and washed down with a couple of pints of golden ale. If you get the chance to visit please do as you wont be disappointed by the welcome, the beers, the food, the staff and the locals. If i am back up on business I will be popping in again for sure!

Had a lovely meal with my 84 year old aunty. We were very impressed by Kadie who is so welcoming. Had a lovely Yorkshire pudding with Top side, veggies and roast potatoes. Price was very reasonable and we’re going home with a doggy bag. But it’s not for the doggy!!! And for one evening Kadie agreed to say #SconeAsInGone. Service was great, and the food too. Thanks Carl the Chef! Plus love that the pub was serving beer almost 400 years ago! Good parking too, and seating area outside!
